Keep your laptop up to date with latest windows update, software updates and driver updates.
Go to settings and set the power & performance settings to either balance or to best performance.

Upgrade RAM to at least 8 GB Replace HDD with SSD Graphic card as per requirement
Instead of putting your laptop on bed or table, use a cooling pad which keep your laptop cool by maintaining airflow which increases its performance.
